Introducing the Resurrected Joiners Saw by Bad Axe – a tribute to the craftsmanship of the 1910 era of saw making, patterned after the iconic Simonds No. 14 Joiners Saw.

Compact yet mighty, the Joiners Saw is your perfect companion for on-the-go woodworking. With a 17" toothline, this backless saw is designed for toolbox storage during travels to job sites or weekends at your lake cabin.

Versatility is key with the Joiners Saw. Its compact size makes it ideal for a variety of tasks, from crosscuts to rips, and from deepening tenon checks to notching out plywood for storage shelves. Its utility is immediate and comprehensive, making it an indispensable tool for any woodworker's arsenal.

Historically known as a benchtop or HandySaw, Joiners Saws were once popular among carpenters, stair-builders, cabinet makers, and artisans alike. Now, Bad Axe brings this classic tool back to life, offering you the same quality and functionality that craftsmen of yesteryear relied on.

The Joiners Saw will quickly become an essential part of your toolkit. Experience the convenience of the Resurrected Joiners Saw on your benchtop today.

  • 11 ppi (Pitch per Inch)
  • Recommended Filing: Hybrid
  • Plate Thickness: .04"
  • Kerf of .05"
  • Made from Blue-Tempered 1095 Spring Steel RC 49/52

Filing Types: Hybrid filing seeks to combine the benefits of both cross and rip filing. It's a compromise between the aggressiveness of rip cuts and the cleanliness of crosscuts. The hybrid pattern is designed to provide a good balance, allowing for relatively fast rip cuts while still maintaining cleaner crosscuts compared to pure rip filing.

Handle: Inspired by the timeless design of the 1910 Simonds open handle, each Bad Axe handle is meticulously crafted from full-heart quartersawn stock in a selection of premium hardwoods including Cherry, White Oak, Hard Maple, and Walnut.

Why choose quartersawn wood? Despite being the priciest option, quartersawn stock offers unparalleled stability, minimizing the effects of seasonal wood movement that can compromise the accuracy of the saw plate alignment. At Bad Axe, we prioritize the use of quartersawn wood to ensure the longevity and reliability of our handles. All handles are dipped in natural Watco Danish oil with the exception of Walnut, which is dipped in black walnut Watco, followed by Tripoli and finish buffed with carnuba wax.

Furthermore, we are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. All our handle stock is sourced from a trusted family-owned business known for their sustainable lumber harvesting practices. This partnership, established from the inception of Bad Axe, underscores our dedication to supporting North American hardwoods and promoting eco-conscious manufacturing processes.
